Hi all! My first blog, and I'm happy to be here.
My youngest was reading Anne Lamott's (is that how her name is spelled?) book, BIRD BY BIRD, and complaining that Lamott takes too free an approach to writing. She said she's learned from me that plotters get the job done, while wandering around in a story can leave you with half a book and nowhere to go. Since she's been around my writing from day one, I must say I'm pleased she's picked up on the process. Yes, I not only plot in advance, I may write the last chapter first. Gives me something to shoot for.

Three by five cards are my friends. I have a wall designed to be covered with them, which I can rearrange at will as I plot a book out. Each card has a color for the main character, and I arrange them according to that character's role in each chapter. Each chapter has to forward the story and/or theme.
Yea, it sounds like work. Writing is work. Very very hard work. And I love it.

Hey I've only just read this book and was wondering if you would write any more? I really enjoyed it, just sat down an immersed myself for a couple of hours and would love more Tal :)

Thanks.

Wow, what a fun surprise. Didn't know anyone went this far back to find out what is what with this blog, LOL.

Unfortunately, my editor departed Berkley and Tal's next two books sank into the black pond of unsold sequels. One day I swear I'll post them in their entirety so they can be downloaded. I love the next two books - one is Henry's story.

Thank you so much for writing, and enjoying Tal's story.
